Enfield Karate Club Gradings

Minimum Training Requirements for Grading

• Attend regular sessions on both Wednesdays and Saturdays.
• Fully know your grading syllabus.
• Know all katas up to and including the grading level.
• Show spirit and Karate-ka attitude in the dojo.

Eligibility Criteria

• Under 5th Kyu: At least 12 consecutive training sessions before grading.
• 5th to 3rd Kyu: At least 24 consecutive training sessions before grading.

• 2nd to 1st Kyu (Brown belt with 1–2 stripes): Minimum of twice-weekly training for 6 months.
• Shodan Ho (Black belt with white stripe): Minimum of twice-weekly training for 6 months.

Grading Schedule

• Gradings take place in March, June, and November.
• Dan Gradings are held once a year in November.

Grading Day Instructions

• Gradings begin promptly at the scheduled time.
• Arrive early to avoid missing your grading opportunity.
• Late arrivals may not be permitted to grade.

Additional Notes

Students wishing to grade must train consistently in the lead-up to the grading date. A minimum of once per week is required to be considered ready.

Students with irregular attendance must speak to Sensei Richard, who will assess readiness during training.

Enfield Karate Club instructors are committed to helping students reach their full potential and uphold the highest standards of karate in comparison to other clubs in the area.

Karate Fees and Payments

Karate session fees can be paid on a pay as you go basis or up front in a 6 session batch.
If you are paying up front, the payment will cover the uninterrupted weeks following the payment.

If a student fails to attend training regularly and the session batch period has expired then they will be expected to pay for the individual session or pay for another batch of sessions with the intention of training regularly upon their return to the Dojo.

As payments can take upto a few hours to appear in our karate account, please ensure ALL payments are made via bank transfer and received in our karate account upto 24 hours before the session begins.

Any student not paid will not be able to attend the session and have to sit and watch should they turn up.

We will no longer be accepting any bank transfer payment at the door on the day of training as there is no evidence payment has been made or received.

Enfield Karate Club Clothing

Only white t-shirts are to be worn in the club.

Items can be ordered and collected in the dojo before or after training.
